Have you ever sensed God’s calling on your life? Describe the two ways God calls us. In which of these ways have you experienced His leading?

What can we learn from Rahab’s story? Why do you think she is included in Hebrews as an example of faith?

Deborah was living during a time of great instability. What is God calling you to do in response to our own unstable society? In what ways can He work through us, the weak but willing?

Can you identify with Naomi? Have you walked through a season of deep loss? If this is in the past, describe how God ministered to you during that time. If it is in the present, ask God to be near and to demonstrate His grace and provision in your time of need.

When have you observed God’s wisdom and ways as higher than our human perspective? How does focusing on God’s wisdom build your faith?

Do you identify with Naomi’s bitterness? What were the results? When you look back at that time, do you see God’s hand and provision?

Naomi and Ruth experienced a reversal of fortune, brought to them by God. Have you experienced any such reversals in your life? Are you praying for one right now?

After you read today's devotional, consider these two questions: (1) Did you pick up any unhelpful thought patterns from your parents? (2) How can you worship with greater joy at what God has done?

How does God speak to us today? How does it look different than the way God spoke in the Old Testament?

What lessons can we take away from the story of David and Bathsheba?

Who was the Queen of Sheba and why did Jesus use her as an example?

The widow of Zarephath experienced God’s dramatic intervention in her life. Afterward, she declared two things, saying, “Now I know.” How would you finish the sentence “Now I know . . .”?

Like Job’s wife, have you ever been tempted to strike out at God in your pain? Why do you think God allows us to experience painful things?

Proverbs 31 describes “a worthy woman.” While this list applies to a woman, many of these qualities are worth striving after for both men and women. When you read through this list of admirable qualities, is there anyone in your life who comes to mind? Perhaps you can tell them how much you appreciate them!
