Loving One Another

Even When It's Hard

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.— John 13:34

I’m sure you’ll agree that it is not hard to find disunity and division in our world today. Cable news shows and social media platforms have become a hornet’s nest of hostility and hate. Sadly, even those of us in the church can sometimes adapt this attitude. But before Jesus left this earth, He gave His followers a new commandment: “Love one another” (John 13:34). What does that mean? And who did Jesus mean by “one another”? This month, we will take a close look at more than 30 “one another” passages in the New Testament. From this study, we will:

  • Understand what the Bible means by the words “one another”
  • Learn how we can imitate Christ’s love as we interact with others
  • Cultivate an attitude of humility as we seek to understand others
